A stones throw from our cafe in downtown Durango is Smelter Mountain, the site of the now removed Smelter for the local area mines. Our local train would haul the ore from the surrounding mountain mines to the Smelter plant, where the mix of ore would be smelted.
A callback to that era, our Smelter Hot Chocolate Mix is a smelting of all of our chocolates: a random blend of 71%, 55%, and 34% Milk Chocolate and White Chocolate. All of the chocolate is tempered chocolate that is ready for melting in your favorite milk (whole, 1%, almond, coconut, etc.–but never water!) to make the best cup of hot chocolate you have ever had. No time for making hot chocolate? The tempered chocolate pieces are also great to nibble on, to put on your ice cream, to add to your pancakes, to bake with… the list goes on and on!
